The Lost Pines Republican Women recently donated toys, clothing and money to the Blue Santa programs in Bastrop, Elgin and Smithville to support each police department’s goal to spread holiday cheer to families across Bastrop County.

This is the fourth year the Bastrop County Republican women’s group has donated goods and money to each city’s police department’s Blue Santa initiative, which provides gifts, such as toys and clothing, to families in need. The group’s president, Carol Spencer, President-elect Kathleen Caso and program chair Marianne Gepner delivered the donations to each police department on Dec. 16.

“Due to the incredible generosity of members, family and friends, LPRW once again was able to support these wonderful programs with thousands of dollars of toys, clothing and financial support,” Spencer said.

“There is such a great need in Bastrop County and with so many people out of work due to COVID this year, the need has definitely increased,” she said. “The smiles of children on Christmas morning makes it all worthwhile.”
