Police Pinch Plundering Paterson Porch Pirate Pilfering Packages

HOBOKEN, NJ “You’re a mean one, Mister Grinch…”

With Christmas only days away, Hoboken Police arrested 41-year-old Brian Jimenez of Paterson for allegedly stealing the contents of packages.

At around 4:20 p.m. on December 22 in the area of 9th and Park Avenue, off-duty Hoboken Police Detective Arturo Gonzalez observed Jimenez opening parcels, taking the contents and discarding the boxes. Gonzalez watched Jimenez attempt to stuff the contents into a bag that was already filled to the top.

As Jimenez began to walk away, Det. Gonzalez contacted Police dispatch and requested back up. He then stopped Jimenez, and the on-scene investigation revealed multiple stolen packages belonging to a number of Hoboken residents.

Jimenez was placed under arrest for theft and receiving stolen property. He was transported to Police Headquarters where he was processed and released on a summons to appear in court.

The defendant is considered innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.
