“Modern Family” alum Sarah Hyland and Wells Adams celebrated in style on Saturday, the day they were scheduled to get married, even though the wedding was postponed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The lovebirds posted the party on Instagram, which included donning matching “Mrs.” and “Mr.” face masks.
In a series of photos shot in front of a stunning, sun-strewn vineyard, the two held hands and beamed at each other with Hyland wearing a white midriff-baring top, a straw hat and a white veil featuring the words “Bride to be.”
“A couple, a pandemic, & a postponed wedding: A series. We were supposed to get married today. Instead … we took pictures and drank wine,” Hyland, 29, wrote. “I love you to Pluto & back.”
“Bachelor in Paradise” star Adams, 36, had a cheeky play on the same scene, grabbing his wife’s bottom for a photo as she stuck her tongue out and laughed. “We were supposed to get married today. We didn’t. But I still got to grab a butt. So, ya know, still pretttty cool,” Wells wrote.
Adams appeared on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” in 2016. Although he didn’t win JoJo Fletcher’s heart, he did catch the eye of Hyland, who tweeted about her crush, adding the hashtags: “Knew he was the best from the start” and “Men who read are hot.”
The online flirting transitioned into a relationship in October 2017. The two were engaged last July in Fiji, with Adams sharing video footage of the proposal on his Instagram account, set to the tune of Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors’ “I Like to Be With Me When I’m With You.”
“I’ll be Johnny, you be June. But forever,” he captioned the sweet video.
