Sainsbury’s children’s clothing tells girls to ‘stay home’ and boys they’re ‘unstoppable’

Sainsbury’s has been criticised for selling clothing with slogans that reinforce gender stereotypes. In a recent Mumsnet thread titled “Am I being unreasonable to think that nothing is going to change for women while girls are still targeted with this b*******?”, an anonymous commenter described their experience of a recent trip to the retail giant. “In Sainsburys this morning,” it begins. “In the boys’ clothes aisle I noticed tops with the words UNLIMITED and UNSTOPPABLE printed on them. Took a quick detour down the girls aisle to see what similarly empowering messages were being directed at them… “‘Let’s Stay Home.’

Sexist and dated as Shaw’s much anthologized 1939 story may be, it did lay out truths about urban existence and the unalloyed joy of looking. Those pleasures, largely withheld over the last 16 months, have returned as we venture forth from our caves. To the delighted surprise of

TikTok Mom Points Out the Infuriating Difference Between Clothing for Girls & Boys

Refinery29 In The Fight For Size Inclusivity, Made-To-Order Clothes Are A Secret Weapon Hardly anything about shopping as a plus-size woman is equitable. Many popular brands don’t produce clothing for the 67{a38ddb2ded6b05e28c8ae73a8db0e271c21f7193684bd9e4e28acae292f81d99} of women in the U.S. who wear a size 16 or above. Those that do often produce watered-down versions of the pieces made in straight sizes (think: a longer hemline, shorter sleeve, a less fitted silhouette) — and hardly ever stock the plus-size iterations in stores. In turn, plus-size shoppers resign themselves to shopping online, where sizing is confusing and pieces often arrive looking drastically different than they

Muzaffarnagar news: Panchayat bans jeans & skirts for girls, short pants for boys | Meerut News

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Girls wearing pants or skirts and boys in short pants will be ostracized, a village panchayat in UP’s Muzaffarnagar has ruled. The panchayat called in Muzaffarnagar’s Pipalshah village on Tuesday discussed issues “affecting the society” among other things. “It is not our culture. Girls should not wear jeans or skirts and men should also wear proper clothes. If they will not dress up properly, they will be socially boycotted,” said Thakur Puran Singh, president of Bhartiya Kisan Sangathan (BKS). The outfit was in the news recently for withdrawing from the ongoing farmers’ protest against three agriculture laws. When asked
