    Tanzanian women’s clothing boutique opens in downtown Raleigh

    Lilian Danieli came to America as a nanny and fast food worker. Now she’s opening a downtown Raleigh clothing store with products of her native Tanzania. Lars Dolder RALEIGH Nashona, a women’s clothing line featuring the vibrant colors of Tanzania’s traditional garb, has a new location in downtown Raleigh. For the company’s founder, Lilian Danieli, the store represents decades of toiling to achieve the American dream. “She is the story of an immigrant coming to America and making opportunities,” said Joyce Salala, Danieli’s closest friend. “When I tell you about rags to riches, there’s no better example than Lilian.”

    Tom Brady to launch clothing line this December

    Celebs The former Patriots quarterback partnered with Jens Grede and designer Dao-Yi Chow on his new line Brady. Tom Brady’s latest venture drops this winter: Brady, a line of men’s activewear, training clothes, and casual wear. While this isn’t Brady’s first foray into the fashion space, this will be his first time developing a brand from scratch.     Chinese clothing brand accused of using blackface on their models in runway show

    On Oct. 14, a runway show in China organized by clothing brand 022397Bluff caught some social media users’ attention for allegedly using blackface on its models. Blackface accusation: Shanghai-based journalist Siyuan Meng shared a picture of the event on Twitter last week, which showed a line of runway models who donned colorful clothes and had their faces painted black. “While 022397Bluff is known for using the embroidery and cultural elements of the Miao ethnic group as the designer himself is Miao (according to Baidu, a few Miao villages would put on blackface in weddings), showing up in blackface at
