    3 New York teen girls wanted for spate of attacks on young Jewish children

    The New York Police Department is looking for three teenage girls wanted in a series of attacks on young Jewish children in Brooklyn. Police say in the first case, the suspects approached a 12-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy who were walking home on Skillman Street about 6 p.m. on Friday.     The 2021 New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children’s Books

    Since 1952, we’ve convened a rotating annual panel of three expert judges who consider every illustrated children’s book published that year in the United States. In 2017, we began partnering with the New York Public Library to administer the honor now called The New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children’s Books Award. The judges select the 10 winners purely on the basis of artistic merit. On the 2021 panel were Catherine Hong, a children’s literature critic; Jessica Agudelo, a youth collections librarian at the New York Public Library; and Paul O. Zelinsky, a Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator of many

    Local clothing designer to showcase ‘Memphis’ collection at New York Fashion week

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A lifelong dream is coming true for a Memphis clothing designer who will be showcasing a collection named after her hometown at New York Fashion Week this month. Ayeshia Smith, 33, said the whole collection was inspired by a bold fabric called Memphis that gives a nod to the fashions of the ’80s and ’90s. ‘Memphis’ print “It’s kind of a big thing right now,” said Smith. “I wanted to create something that identified with me, and it’s named after my hometown.
