Norwegian Cruise Line Revamps Latitudes Rewards Program, Adds New Level
Cruisers sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line can advance through the company’s Latitudes Rewards Program faster after the company revamped the loyalty program to reduce the number of points required for each level. The cruise line also added a new higher-level tier that includes perks such as a one-time free cabin upgrade.
“Today, we’re announcing the enhancement of our Latitudes Rewards Program for cruisers, featuring a redesigned tier structure to make achieving the next status easier than ever before and a whole host of new benefits,” the line said in a media statement.
Tier Breakdown
Latitudes now includes seven tiers, including a brand-new Diamond status that precedes the Ambassador level. Additionally, the line replaced the Platinum Plus tier with Sapphire and reduced the number of points needed to reach most of the tiers. The only levels that remain the same are Bronze, which requires one point, and Ambassador, which takes 700+ points.
Silver status is now unlocked after reaching 20 points (previously 30) and Gold after reaching 45 points (previously 55). Platinum status is available to guests with 75 points (previously 80). Sapphire is available to cruisers with 150 points (previously 175), and the new Diamond tier is unlocked at 350 points.
Cruisers earn one point for each night of their cruise, plus extra points for booking a suite or in the Haven. The smaller number of points required enables cruisers, particularly suite cruisers, to move through the levels faster.
For instance, a guest who books a 10-day voyage in a suite can reach Silver status after a single cruise.
New Loyalty Perks
Latitudes members now have access to a range of new onboard experiences, as well as special offers. New perks include a one-time free cabin upgrade, Wines Around the World tasting experience, and Sail & Sustain Mixology experience, access to member cruises, Internet package discounts, and the line’s novelty signature tier-status pins.
Other benefits Latitudes members will continue to receive as they move up the loyalty levels include members-only cocktail parties, complimentary special dining, and laundry service, plus priority tender and disembarkation, as well as discounted shore excursions, duty-free shopping, photo packages, and spa treatments.
New Advisor Resources
Norwegian Cruise Line is supplying travel advisors with new resources and assets to be used in communicating the changes and new perks to their clients, including a dedicated NCLU training course on Norwegian Central.
